Trust & Safety

MyCrashPad was built by airline personnel who were tired of hunting for crashpads in group chats and message boards, sending deposits to strangers, and hoping the bed and the address were real. Every stay here is between verified airline personnel, with the money and the messages in one place.

Crew-only, checked by a human

Everyone uploads a valid airline ID and a government photo ID. Our team reviews both by hand — usually within 24 hours — before an account can list or book. No airline ID, no access.

Your documents stay private

IDs go into private encrypted storage that only the verification team can open. Other members never see them — only a badge. We never sell them, never advertise with them, and never send them to your airline.

Addresses unlock only after payment

Public listings show the neighbourhood and a shaded circle of about 2 km. The exact address and map pin appear for the guest only once the stay is paid for, which keeps hosts' homes private.

Messaging that stays on the record

Host and guest can message before and after booking inside MyCrashPad. Keeping it here means we have the record if there is ever a dispute.

Payments you can see in full

The total at checkout is the total charged: the nightly rate, a 7% MyCrashPad fee and 13% Ontario HST. No surprise charges afterwards. Hosts are paid biweekly after the stay finishes.

Someone to call

Report a listing, a member or a stay from inside your account. Our team can warn, suspend or ban accounts, pause listings and refund bookings when something goes wrong.

If something goes wrong

  1. Message the host or guest through MyCrashPad — most problems are a key, a code or a delayed rotation.
  2. Can't get in, or the place isn't as described? Open Support in your account, or email mycrashpad@yahoo.com / call +1 (613) 981-7817 with your booking number. We contact the other side directly.
  3. Still locked out after 2 hours: we cancel, refund you in full, and help you find another crashpad near the same airport.
  4. Damage, safety or conduct concerns are reviewed by our team, with both sides heard, under our cancellation, refund and claims rules.
  5. In an emergency, always call local emergency services first, then tell us.

Ground rules

  • Airline personnel only — no subletting your bed to non-crew.
  • Respect quiet hours; someone in the pad is always sleeping.
  • Tenants clean up before they leave — leave the pad the way you'd want to find it after a red-eye.
  • Never share another member's address, documents or contact details.
  • No discrimination, harassment or pressure over reviews.
