Privacy Policy

MyCrashPad collects sensitive documents to keep the community crew-only. This page explains exactly what we collect, who can see it, and how long we keep it.

Last updated September 2026

What we collect

  • Account details — name, email, phone number, whether you host, stay, or both.
  • Crew profile — airline, role, photo, bio, languages. Your airline and employee details are never shown publicly; other members only see your first name and last initial, your photo and your badges.
  • Verification documents — your airline ID and a government-issued photo ID.
  • Listing and booking data — addresses, dates, prices, messages, reviews, payment records.
  • Technical data — basic log and device information needed to run and secure the site.

What happens to your uploaded IDs

  • They are uploaded straight into private encrypted storage. They are never public, never shown on your profile, and never included in search results, listings or messages.
  • Only the MyCrashPad verification team can open them, and only to confirm you are airline personnel and that your name matches your account.
  • Other members — hosts and guests — can never see them. They only see a badge saying you are verified.
  • We do not sell them, use them for advertising, or share them with your airline.
  • Once your account is approved we keep only what we need to prove the check was done, and we delete the document files when your account is closed or within 12 months of approval, whichever comes first. If we reject you, the files are deleted after the appeal window.
  • You can ask us to delete them at any time by emailing mycrashpad@yahoo.com; note that we cannot keep your account verified without them.

Addresses

A listing's exact street address is never public. Before booking, visitors see only the neighbourhood and a shaded circle of roughly 2 km. The exact address and map pin unlock for the guest only after payment, and are visible to the host and our admin team.

Why we use your data

  • To verify that everyone on MyCrashPad is airline personnel.
  • To take bookings, process payments and pay hosts.
  • To send booking, message, verification and payment notifications.
  • To investigate reports, damage claims, fraud and safety issues.
  • To meet tax, accounting and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to run MyCrashPad: our hosting and database provider, our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal — card details go to them, never to us), our email delivery provider, and mapping/address lookup for the area shown on a listing. We also disclose information where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can view and edit your profile at any time, ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and documents. Email mycrashpad@yahoo.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Documents live in private storage with row-level access rules, so each member can only reach their own records, and admin access is limited to the MyCrashPad team. More detail is on our Trust & Safety page.
